Hello, Susquenita Elementary families and students!
My name is Ashley Stone, and I am so excited to introduce myself as the Elementary Librarian at Susquenita Elementary School! While I am new to the library, Susquenita has been a very special part of my teaching journey for several years.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2020. I began my teaching career as a fourth-grade teacher at Premier Arts & Science Charter School in Harrisburg, where I taught from 2020–2021. From there, I joined the Susquenita family as a building substitute at Susquenita Elementary during the 2021–2022 school year.
In 2022, I was fortunate enough to become a permanent member of the Susquenita Elementary team as a second-grade teacher. I absolutely loved my time in second grade and am so grateful for the students, families, and colleagues who made those years so special.
Now, I am excited to make the transition from the classroom to the library! Being a specialist gives me the unique opportunity to get to know every student at Susquenita Elementary, and that is one of the things I am most excited about. I hope to make our library a place where every student feels welcome, curious, and excited to learn.
Most of all, I want to share my love of reading with our students and help each child discover books, authors, and topics that interest them. Whether you already have a favorite book or are still searching for the one that makes you love reading, I can't wait to help you find it!
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my youngest play softball, painting, and watching movies. I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with books, learning, laughter, and lots of new adventures in the library!
